We are constantly reminded about the benefits of regular exercise, and most of us are completely unaware of the extremity of these benefits. As you will probably know, the ‘engine’ which keeps our body moving is our heart, and without it performing at its best, we will never experience what it’s like to have a happy body. Whether it be during a sporting event, during your day at work, or even simply cooking the dinner for your family, if your heart is not ‘happy’ then the rest of your body sure won’t be!
The simplest way to improve your hearts health is by taking on a regular exercise routine. Regular exercise is a great way to help reduce blood pressure, strengthen your heart and increase the amount of blood flow around your body. When we exercise, the muscles in our heart become stronger, and this increased strength allows it to pump more blood through our blood vessels, ultimately carrying more oxygen to our working muscles. Have you ever felt physically drained after a day at work? Or have you ever felt like you are not getting the most out of your time at the gym? If you have, then the problem is probably your cardiovascular endurance.
Aerobic exercise is the only way to improve your cardiovascular endurance, and although many people see it as prolonged and boring, it doesn’t have to be! Exercise is what you make it, so if you want to spend 30 minutes jogging on a treadmill on your own, then that is fine, but if you want something more social and enjoyable, then simply find a training partner, or a class of something you enjoy doing, such as dance or yoga. Having the increased blood flow capacity will definitely benefit you, and even from the first day of exercise, you will start to feel the difference.
As well as having a lot more energy to do the things you want to do, taking on a regular exercise regime will also help you sleep better at night. If a sleeping disorder is something that haunts you, then try hitting the treadmill for at least 30 minutes per day, and I guarantee that you will find it easier to rest at night. Rest is essential for growth and repair, so why not take the chance and see for yourself?
Taking part in at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity everyday can not only give you the benefits we just mentioned, it can also give you the greatest benefit you could ever ask for: A prolonged life! Studies have shown that people who exercise regularly are more likely to live a longer, healthier life, compared to the ones who don’t. If that is not a motive, then I don’t know what is.
Keeping your body happy does not necessarily just mean on the inside. Everybody wants to look good on the outside, and everybody wants to be as lean as possible, and when twinned with a good diet, exercise can help you get there. One of the benefits of regular aerobic exercise is increased weight loss, more specifically, fat loss. This will not only help with lowering your cholesterol and improving your health on the inside, but it will also make you look fantastic on the outside. It is amazing what exercise can do for you, and if you have yet to discover, then do not hold back, get started as soon as possible and reap all the amazing benefits which the heart racing activity has to offer you!
